Addressing a wide range of topics, IAOP’s Research Committee seeks to leverage the unique insights of outsourcing professionals alongside world-class research programs and organizations. 2008 Research Agenda Beginning in September 2008, IAOP will be releasing the results of the committee’s 2008 research agenda. These studies, which make up IAOP’s Fall 2008 Thought Leadership Series, also will be shared at The 2009 Outsourcing World Summit® next February. Ø Strategic Outsourcing Decision Making As the world’s economy shifts, so do companies’ decisions on outsourcing. A research study, conducted in association with the University of South Wales, looks at why and how companies around the globe are making these decisions. Ø Deep Dive into the Benefits and Risks from Outsourcing Building upon the wealth of data collected by IAOP’s Academic Alliance Partner, Duke CIBER Fuqua School of Business, this study uncovers trends by geography, industry, function, and company size on the drivers and risks of outsourcing around the corner and across the world. Ø Developing Reliable Measures of Alliance Success How do companies measure outsourcing success? What techniques provide for the most effective understanding of the results achieved; setting the stage for better outcomes in the future? | Using Tools to Enhance Outsourcing Outcomes Tools to help organizations better design, implement, and manage outsourcing relationships are gaining in popularity.
