| Committee Charter Led by Atul Vashistha, CEO, neoIT — one of the best known global advocates for outsourcing as a management practice — IAOP’s Advocacy & Outreach Committee is chartered with heading up the association’s programs for advancing outsourcing as a profession and as an industry. The Outsourcing Hall of Fame An initiative of IAOP’s Advocacy & Outreach Committee The Outsourcing Hall of Fame presented by IAOP is one of the most prestigious awards available to individuals working in the field of outsourcing. The Hall of Fame is unique in that it recognizes individuals not only for their contributions to the management practice and industry of outsourcing, but just as importantly for their contributions to society at-large through outsourcing. Inductees must demonstrate that unique quality of leadership that allows them to synthesize a new model of business with everyone’s obligation to contribute to community-based economic development, support socially-directed investments, and provide development opportunities to all those impacted by their work. Inductees are generally senior executives working in the field as customers, providers, or advisors who have made significant contributions to both business and society through outsourcing over a period of years. The Award Recipients of The Outsourcing Hall of Fame award are selected by IAOP’s Advocacy & Outreach Committee and are inducted into the Hall of Fame at the association’s annual conference, The Outsourcing World Summit®. Socially Responsible Outsourcing (SRO) An initiative of IAOP’s Advocacy & Outreach Committee One of the ways IAOP™ advocates the management practice of outsourcing is to show how companies and professionals can embrace it in a socially responsible way, creating a positive outcome for all involved. To identify and promote discussion of socially responsible policies and practices among our IAOP membership, a Socially Responsible Outsourcing Sub-Committee has been created. Outsourcing Professional Career Mapping Phase II: How Companies Are Utilizing Outsourcing Professionals An initiative of IAOP’s Advocacy & Outreach Committee Do you know: One of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals’ (IAOP) key focus areas is developing a vision for the skills, roles, and responsibilities of outsourcing professionals globally. This includes understanding how many outsourcing professionals companies are and should be employing; how they are best utilized; and the career paths and compensation levels available to professionals in this field. Under the guidance of its Advocacy & Outreach Committee, the IAOP Outsourcing Professional Career Mapping Initiative has completed an online survey and in-depth interviews providing important insights and practical guidance on how companies with mature outsourcing processes are utilizing outsourcing professionals, along with the role that human resource departments are playing in recruiting, staffing and setting compensation levels for outsourcing professionals. In January 2008 these survey results were presented via webinar by Michael Corbett, IAOP’s chairman, and the members of the Advocacy & Outreach Committee, chaired by Atul Vashistha of neoIT. This report describes the skills, knowledge and experiences, and capabilities required for a successful career in outsourcing. It is the second deliverable of an ongoing program mapping the outsourcing professional career.
