The Chapter will provide opportunities for outsourcing customers, providers, advisors/academia and government/non-profit organizations to collaboratively raise the level of discourse, continuing education, advocacy and professionalism related to conducting business globally

The Chapter will review, catalogue and share Transboundary Sourcing requirements, issues, challenges and best practices with the IAOP Membership worldwide

The Chapter will explore emerging concepts and approaches to Transboundary Sourcing including new business models, social/societal impact and geo-political ramification

The Chapter will provide a forum for the IAOP’s Global Membership to develop and share their point-of-view concerning contemporary Transboundary Sourcing developments, issues and opportunities worldwide

IAOP Chapter: Transboundary Sourcing


Inaugural meeting held on February 3, 2010


The inaugural meeting of the IAOP Transboundary Sourcing Chapter chaired by Avasant was held in collaboration with the Southern California chapter on February 3, 2010 beginning at 3 pm PST at 660 Newport Center Drive, Suite 1600, Newport Beach, CA. This meeting was also accessible via webinar.

The meeting featured presentations on strategic sourcing from both China and India, and the shifting landscape in the world of digital media, with a focus on developments, trends, and practical business applications.


Presentations were delivered by Anil K. Gupta, who is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading experts on strategy and globalization (Professor Gupta is the author of over seventy papers and four books with his latest book on “Getting China and India Right” published by Jossey-Bass/John Wiley in February 2009), and Edward Altman, who recently joined GlobalLogic as head of the Digital Media practice after a distinguished career in the Media & Entertainment Industry at TCS, MGM (where he served as Chief Information Officer), Twentieth Century Fox and Paramount Pictures.
