IAOP Chapter: Global Technology Industry


Next meeting to be held on April 21, 2010

The next meeting of the IAOP Global Technology Industry Chapter co-chaired by Symantec, Oracle America, Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm PST. The meeting format will be a combination of on-site at the Symantec Campus located at 350 Ellis Street, Mountain View, CA 94043; and available to guests worldwide through the IAOP webinar network.


The meeting will feature the presentations “Savings from Multi-vendor Cloud-based Delivery” by Andy Nallappan, Director, Global IT, at Avago Technologies and “Outsourcing through Cloud Computing” by
Subra Kumarswamy, OnDemand Security Service Architect, at Oracle America, Inc..

This meeting of the IAOP Technology Industry Chapter co-chaired by Symantec, Sun/Oracle and PricewaterhouseCoopers was held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm PST. The meeting format was a combination of on-site at the Symantec Campus located at 350 Ellis Street, Mountain View, CA 94043; and available to guests worldwide through the IAOP webinar network.

Inaugural meeting held!

The inaugural meeting of the IAOP Technology Industry Chapter co-chaired by Symantec, Sun/Oracle and PricewaterhouseCoopers was held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm PST. The meeting format was a combination of on-site at the Symantec Campus located at 466 Ellis Street, Mountain View, CA 94043; and available to guests worldwide through the IAOP webinar network.


In addition to formal launch of the chapter and introduction of the chapter Governance Council and chapter charter, the meeting included a panel discussion on “The Science of Multi Provider Governance” led by Rajib Arjun of PWC. Panelists included
Leslie Lambert of Sun Microsystems, Michelle Charpentier of Symantec and Michael Giannini of NetApp. We also had a discussion on “Secured Outsourcing per ISO 27002 - Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) standards” led by Raj Patel of Sun Microsystems. Finally, Dr. Gu of Tsinghua University presented “China’s Outsourcing Industry – A Perspective”, a unique perspective on services outsourcing in China.

A reception followed the meeting for local attendees from the Silicon Valley area.
