Primary Purpose
T
o increase the effectiveness of the outsourcing industry within the segment of small and medium enterprises by sharing best practices, providing certification standards by IAOP Standards Board and facilitating knowledge exchange.

The Chapter will provide thought leadership through the network of certified professionals, publications, relevant industry organizations and research initiatives.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee will consist of executives with SME Focus & Experience and Remote (Global) Sourcing Experience.

Meeting Frequency
Monthly

Meeting Type
Meetings will be face-to-face business events in meeting rooms or offices throughout the region, or social events at restaurants or other public venues of interest, or via teleconference.  The Chapter will also meet annually at The Outsourcing World
Summit

Guest Speakers
The SME Software Global Sourcing Chapter will recruit SME experts as guest speakers.

Second Meeting


The Chapter held a face-to-face meeting at The 2006 Outsourcing World Summit, on Monday, February 20th from 9:00 – 11:00 am in the conference center of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Orlando, Florida.

This was the second meeting of the SME Global Sourcing Chapter. The first was held via web conference on January 19, 2006. For this first in-person meeting, agenda items included discussion of the Chapter goals and objectives, global project management for SME, adoption of outsourcing by SME technology companies, SME Global Sourcing Methodology and customer satisfaction issues.

Inaugural Meeting

The inaugural meeting of the SME Global Sourcing Chapter of IAOP was held on January 19, 2006 at 1:00 pm Eastern Time via web conference.  The meeting was hosted by Chapter Chair Eugene Goland of Offshore Outsourcing Best Practices Association (OOBP.org).
  
Eugene shared work underway within OOBP.org and IAOP to better address the needs of the outsourcing marketplace for SMEs.
