| Biographies | First Graduating Class of COPS Sunil G. Acharya Sunil Archarya is currently Manager, Forecast and Planning KTBR at Intel Information Technology. He has 14 years of overall experience in the IT industry in various roles. This includes experience with outsourcing as an entrepreneur. Much of his outsourcing experience has been in the realm of defining and executing outsourcing strategies. He holds a Masters Degree in Computing & Information Technology (Australia) and an Engineering Degree in Computer Science. He is a PMI Certified PMP. Mohammed A. Abdullatif Mohammed has more than 25 years of academic & industrial experience in many different areas. A few of these areas include Information Technology, Data Networking, Computer Systems & Applications Support. He started his career as a lecturer of Information Systems at King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) and then joined Saudi Aramco, the largest oil company in the world, in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. He worked in different departments as well as headed and managed a number of key IT projects which include, the implementation of the company’s’ high speed networks and the upgrading of corporate operating systems and electronic mail. He is currently a member of IT’s strategic planning staff whose responsibilities include the development of IT’s business & master plan, outsourcing strategies and key performance indicators. Roger R. Byrnes Mr. Byrnes is a senior level consultant and advisor in the global outsourcing industry. He has held senior level consulting positions with Arthur Andersen and senior level delivery and outsourcing practice management positions with Computer Horizons Corp. (CHC). He is currently a senior consultant with River East Consulting Group LLC. He has experience as both a provider and buyer of outsourcing services. As a Service Provider and Outsourcing Practice Manager, he established and managed onshore, nearshore (Montreal, Canada) and offshore (Chennai, India) service delivery centers. These centers provided Application Management, Application Development and Quality Assurance Testing services to a wide range of customers including a number of Fortune 100 companies. As the manager of these centers, Mr. Byrnes continually strived to improve his company’s three-tier global delivery model and leverage best practices such as CMMI and ITIL. As an Outsourcing Practitioner and Consultant, he has provided many services to companies including establishing corrective action, process improvement and governance programs, transition planning and management, engagement/relationship management, contract negotiation and program/project management. Dale Christopherson Dale Christopherson currently holds the position of Director, Global Sourcing for Lawson Software which is a position that he has held since September 2006. His primary role is the outsourcing of various corporate functions, within Lawson to its captive center located in Manila, Philippines. The captive center, Lawson PSSC, provides BPO and ITO services and Dale was very instrumental in setup and initial operations of the center when it started operations in January 2006. He works with various business units in Lawson to provide governance assistance to various outsourcing projects with partners located in India. Prior to this role in Lawson, Dale was a Director of Development for various products within Lawson Software's Product Development organization since 1997 which provide several opportunities since 2002 for outsourcing. Dalal Jag formed JDalal Associates, LLC in April 2002. (J&JPRD) in the Global Pharmaceutical R&D Sourcing Group. Janis has 20 years of experience in the health care industry on both sides of the outsourcing equation. Teresa Harris Teresa Harris currently holds the position of Global Sourcing IT Manager at Kodak which is a position she has held since 2006. She manages compliance to the Master Services Agreements, as well as financial management and overall governance of IT supplier contracts. Teresa has over 20 years of IT experience across several diverse areas of discipline. These include Global Resource Management, SOX Compliance Management, and a variety of support roles for Kodak's Global deployment of SAP. The company specializes in retail outsourcing of sales, marketing, and operations functions. Wayne S. Heiler Wayne Heiler is the head of Strategic Sourcing for Pfizer’s Research and Development IT organization. In this position, he led the development, standardization and implementation of a Strategic Sourcing Strategy that saved over $1.2M in the first 6 months. This strategy is expected to yield $8M in savings in 2008 and expected to yield over $15M in annual savings 2009 and beyond. He earned an excellent note for his MBA with specialization in the field of Information System and E-Commerce from the University of Natal, South Africa. He was one of the pioneer IT professionals in his country and has contributed to the advancement of the ICT field in Africa under the UNDP-AABF program. For the past 15 years, Mr. Jamalkhan has accumulated a bank of advance business research particularly in the field of Information Technology. He is the author of a report on “The impact of Cybercrimes on the Business Community”. During his career, Nasser has been working as System Designer, Embedded System Developer, R&D for computer parts and Turn-Key projects. He is now involved in project management and advisor to the Business Process Outsourcing industry. He is also an academic Program and Research Officer in the field of Business and IT. He is currently setting up a Knowledge Hub Centre in collaboration with a reputable British University. He spends his free time on a doctoral research for “Adapting New Technologies to Help Children with Learning Difficulties”. He is also a Charter Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mauritius and speaks both French and English fluently. Sami Kannan Sami Kannan is a Delivery Manager, currently handles large supply chain program. He has led the customized outsourcing solutions for product development and projects delivery. Sami has executed outsourcing projects for major clients from US, U.K, Australia and Europe. He has applied business processes, Six sigma methodology and ITIL processes in outsourcing engagements which has improved efficiencies and reduced costs significantly. Sami received his Master of Technology (M.Tech) from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India. He is PMP certified and is an ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt certified. Kearney Cindy Kearney is responsible for leadership of the new GPS organization, charged with providing quality services to the five R&D operating companies while leveraging their joint resources, harmonizing policies and practices, and enhancing supplier relationship management. Cindy joined J&JPRD in October 2004 as Senior Director, Global R&D Sourcing, Contracting & Procurement and led the design phase of the new GPS organization. Cindy has a strong background and reputation of achieving business results through innovation, collaboration and a focus on people development. From 2001 through October 2004, Cindy was Director of Alliance Strategy for Strategic Sourcing, a division of J&J Corporate. Cindy founded and led the SourceLink initiative, a global effort that leverages sourcing and procurement opportunities across all R&D operating companies throughout J&J. The SourceLink approach has resulted in millions of dollars in cost savings. Prior to this position, Cindy was Senior Director Global Strategic Outsourcing, Data Management and CRF Design for Janssen Research foundation. She began her career in 1998 at Robert Wood Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute as Director and Clinical Trial Team Leader for the CNS franchise. Before joining Johnson and Johnson, Cindy worked for Smith Kline Beecham for five years where she held the position of Associate Director Data Management Americas. Cheryl Keck Prior to joining DATROSE in 1998, Cheryl Keck was an Operations Executive for an international sporting goods company based in Orlando, FL. Cheryl holds an MBA in Management and International Business from Rochester Institute of Technology. Her undergraduate work was also done at RIT where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management. Vishal Khanna As the Engagement Manager at Syntel Deutschland GmbH, Vishal is currently responsible for the automotive and manufacturing customers. In this current role he is in charge of identifying and qualifying long-term and short-term business outsourcing opportunities within named accounts. Vishal works closely with the business development team to enhance relationships as well as to lead and structure outsourcing initiatives. He is also accountable for coordinating the complex decision making process for sourcing and bringing deals to closure within the defined standards of outsourcing.Coming primarily from a service delivery background Vishal has been part of various strategic souring initiatives and has specialized in the setup and management of captive offshore delivery centers and large teams. He has direct oversight of GFS and its day-to-day operations, which administers 60 million square feet of prime commercial and retail space around the world. He centralized Gale’s operations throughout the world into a state-of-the-art 46,000 square-foot worldwide headquarters; opened new offices in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, London and Seoul; built a new datacenter incorporating the latest technologies, including an internet based network accessible from anywhere in the world; and began the implementation of the technologies that will lead the company to a paperless environment. Nancy brings over 20 years experience in the Healthcare industry, from both the provider and payer disciplines. She has held a variety of management positions including Vice President, Sales and Marketing for MedPlans Partners, Vice President of TPA services for MedPlans 2000, Director of Marketing and Development for MedPlans 2000 and served as a Managed Care Consultant in the area of Community Health Plan development. Nancy has extensive experience in working with clients who have made the decision to outsource their claims processing functions, either all or in part. Metz Mr. Metz has spent the last twenty years delivering IT solutions for some of the world’s largest companies including Procter & Gamble, General Electric, AT&T, American Electric Power and Marathon Oil. Tetsuto “Teddy” Nishiyama Tetsuto "Teddy" is an in-house consultant at OMRON Corporation in Japan. His primary focus is on "Process Improvement" based on CMMI, but now offers his expertise in outsourcing, not only as a business solution for various organizations within the company, but also as a unique way to learn from the vendor and improve one's own process maturity level. Teddy is currently the primary point of contact for outsourcing to a major Indian software services vendor. Ostrander Richard Ostrander is an independent associate with JDalal Associates focusing on Information Technology and Business Process outsourcing where he has been since 2002. He recently helped Kodak establish a Global Shared Services model and has experience and expertise in benchmarking, dashboards and performance management. While at Kodak, he worked on teams that were responsible for driving out significant dollars out of the cost structure of the Company. In addition to improving the bottom line for Kodak, he has taught cost management strategies, statistical process control, and process capability classes in the US. and more than 10 other countries. Tim has degrees from the Rochester Institute of Technology in the fields of Statistics, Chemical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology. Joe launched his career in 1988 by joining Electronic Data Systems, Inc. as an Advanced Systems Engineer. In 1991, he was hired as a Senior Solutions Consultant for Vetri System. In 1993, he joined Apprise, Inc. as a Senior Solutions Architect. From 1995 to 2004 he served as a Partner for Diversified Software Solutions as a founder of a software development and systems integrations company. His career moved him back to the corporate world working for OfficeTiger as a Senior Manager in business process outsourcing space before joining the prestigious McGraw-Hill Companies in 2004. Joe was initially hired as a Manager (Standard & Poor’s Division), and was promoted to Director (Information Management Division) in 2006 to implement and promote best practice around business process outsourcing and off-shore development. He is now working for Sterling Testing Systems to develop and implement its Vendor Management, Financial Governance and Lean Six Sigma around on-shore and off-shore outsourcing. Joe was a member of the United States Army Reserves and National Guard from 1983 to 1993, and advanced to the rank of Captain. Scott Zaret Current Role: Scott leads the Business Process Outsourcing team responsible for developing WaMu's offshore strategy, methodology and tools, establishing WaMu's offshore footprint and driving the successful offshoring of over 8,000 FTE in less than 3 years. Scott retains primary responsibility for the team's governance activities and manages the team's performance of opportunity assessment, transition and vendor management functions. He also serves as WaMu’s primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management and regulators, with respect to all offshore activities. Background Summary: Scott joined WaMu in 2003 as a member of the Contracts Group within the Legal Department and was lead counsel with respect to negotiating outsourcing and significant service relationships.
