Academic Alliance Partners


The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals is concerned with all aspects of outsourcing on a global level. Our corporate and professional members are diverse in size, industry, region and service focus. Through our member feedback from surveys, research, and chapter and event activity, we endeavor to continue expanding our membership benefits to better enhance the value of our organization to all of our members.

IAOP acknowledges the importance of continually educating our members by developing research and providing academic based best standards that improve the industry and outsourcing as a profession.

Duke C.I.B.E.R. Fuqua School of Business
Offshoring Research Network (ORN)


The Duke University Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) was established in 1992 by the Duke University Fuqua School of Business. The center develops teaching materials for studies in international business, hosts workshops and conferences, promotes faculty development and international research and engages in outreach projects.

The Offshoring Research Network (ORN), headed by Dr. Arie Y. Lewin, has a strong relationship with IAOP, and IAOP Chairman Michael F. Corbett is part of the ORN Global Team. ORN’s Project Director Jeff Russell sits on the IAOP European Advisory Board. IAOP and DUKE ORN collaborate in many ways, including:

Ø   Research studies that contribute to IAOP’s Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge (OPBOK) and its Knowledge Center, Firmbuilder.com

Ø   Presentation of professional executive training such as the successful Outsourcing & Offshoring Strategies (SOOS) class

Ø   Duke-associated IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Spain, hosted The 2008 European Outsourcing Summit, presented by IAOP

Boston University School of Management
Institute for Global Work (IGW)

Founded as the College of Business Administration in 1913, Boston University School of Management educates builders and leaders, uniquely fusing the art, science and technology of business. The school is the global pioneer of the MS-MBA program, a rigorous dual degree, next generation MBA integrating traditional management education with expertise in the information technologies that are transforming every business. The school also offers executive programs along with its undergraduate degree and a full range of graduate degrees, such as the top-ranked MBA in health sector management and the MBA in public & nonprofit management. IGW and IAOP collaborate on:

California State University Fullerton
Mihaylo College of Business and Economics – Institute for Research and Education in Outsourcing (IREO) and Center for the Study of Emerging Markets (CSEM)

The Cal State Fullerton Mihaylo College of Business and Economics – Center for the Study of Emerging Markets (CSEM) and Institute for Research an Education in Outsourcing Center,  led by Director Joseph Greco, works with IAOP to enable business leaders to maximize their outsourcing initiatives and successfully manage their outsourcing relationships. Joint collaborations include:

Ø Deployment of the Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) Master Class as a Certification & Professional Development Partner

Ø Contributions to the IAOP Training & Certification Committee

Ø Insight and articles of interest to all IAOP members

Ø Research related to promoting the flow of global information and technology between the academic and business communities






Copenhagen Business School

Copenhagen Business School (CBS) was established in 1917 and

became integrated as an institution of higher education in the Danish education system in 1965. Today CBS is regulated by the Danish Universities Act 2003 under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.CBS is one of the largest business schools in Europe with more than 16,000 students. CBS offers world-class research-based degree programs at undergraduate, graduate and PhD levels as well as executive and other post experience education programmes.CBS creates and provides original and relevant knowledge through publishing, participation in the public debate, consultancy and our Expert database Experts@CBS. University of Missouri-St. Louis
College of Business Administration

The University of Missouri-St. Louis provides excellent learning experiences and leadership opportunities for a diverse student body through its outstanding faculty, ranked programs, innovative research and regional, national and international partnerships.

UMSL employs more than 1,400 full-time and part-time teaching and research faculty members. Faculty are experts in their respective fields and routinely publish books and articles in nationally renowned academic journals. Several of its 131 degree and certificate programs have attained national recognition for their quality, including biology, criminology, education, information systems, international business, nursing, optometry, psychology, public policy and tropical ecology.

The largest university in the region, UMSL enrolls more than 15,500 students from 46 states and 77 countries and 40,000 additional students in non-credit continuing education programs. Despite its international flavor, the UMSL student body comes primarily from, and reflects the diversity of, the region.
